It would appear that the Klein government has re-introduced the "Third Way". No press release or announcement was made. This government will stop at nothing to get its way, certainly not the objections of the voters. After all, the American private insurance and medical corporations have paid big bucks for the Alberta Tories to let them in the door.

It would appear that Ralph Klein is again doing his best to ensure that Stephen Harper won't get a majority government. This time it's Ralph spewing about eqalization payments and how Alberta wants to keep the other provinces away from Alberta's oil revenue.

Practically every time I turn on the radio I hear about how hard done by Albertans seem to think they are. This time it's a poll done by the CBC about what Albertans think. Apparently 60% of Albertans in this poll think that we don't get the respect we deserve.

It's been a while since I've written, since life has been so busy for me, but now a few moments have happened and I can put finger to keyboard once again. On my way to work today I was listening to the radio (CBC1010) I heard a representative from a company that loans money to schools for maintenance based on savings they'd find in facilities operations.

...as long as it agrees with his point of view. Now I haven't read the Klein plan for health “reform” yet, but I'm not commenting on that specifically so it's not important at the moment. What I am commenting on is the discord between what the premier told the Calgary Herald, specifically that he wants to hear from Albertans what they think of his health care plan, and his actions in the legislature when provided with alternative ideas.

With the coming federal election, I've heard much in the Alberta media about how little time and energy the federal parties are putting into the election in the province. For example, the leaders of the three main federal parties made whistle stops in the province over the weekend. These stops are likely to be the only stops for the Liberals and the NDP, and the Tories probably won't have much more. This of course leads to Albertans complaining that no one is listening to them. My assertion is that Albertans have no one to blame but themselves for this.

Both on here and in my discussions with my friends I've opined about what I think the auditor general would find in Applewood and it's lottery grant. Well, the auditor general found that the Applewood Community Association didn't keep the proper records and that they couldn'd prove that the money went to where it was supposed to go. Armed with that knowledge, the government has ordered the Applewood Community Association to repay $20,000 of the $30,000 it was given.

On my morning commute to the LRT station, I listen to the radio. Thankfully the CBC strike is over and I can get my info fix (Jack FM is great for music, but I missed my morning news and info). Well this morning they had Rod Love on talking about the Gomery Commission. The Gomery Commission is in Alberta looking at recommendations to help prevent the Sponsorship Scandal from happening again. Apparently Mr. Love has been invited to provide a submission to the Commission and CBC was interviewing him this morning.

I have some concerns about the direction our province of Alberta is heading. Though we currently have huge oil revenue surpluses, it would seem that mismanagement of this revenue is robbing our future for short term personal gain. Case in point is the $300 or so “dividend” announced by the premier this past week.

I see in the papers where the CHR is putting up an objection to the drilling of some sour gas wells just outside of south east Calgary. This after the company that requested the wells was given a smooth ride through the approval process. It\'s amazing that the CHR would raise such an objection, and here\'s why I think that is.
