No - you aren't the only person to notice this. It's the "mass media" effect coming to the surface - the same reason that McDonald's is successful. The product's not 'good', merely consistent.
The average schmoe on the street doesn't want good, they want consistent - or so the marketing mavens will tell you. Sadly, their success suggests that they are correct. BTW - congrats on the new house. I hope it all works out in time. - Grog http://www.crystalgaze2.blogspot.com
