The added cost of rebuilding Texas will also be a huge break on their economy. The US's thirst for energy is huge and parking the SUV's is only one part of the equation. They'll need to take a good hard look at how they use energy (as do we here in Canada). Perhaps the hurricanes will force them to do what international and public pressure haven't be able to do, work on alternative energy sources. With these storms taking off more and more of the American's refining and production capacity, they'll have no choice.
