So - he screwed up to the tune of $3000, and suddenly _you're_ being sued?

Lovely.

So, not only is it a fishing expedition, this guy wants to play heavy as well. He probably thinks that by serving papers he's going to scare you into forking over the money. (Paper being the passive/aggressive form of the visit from Guido and Knuckles)
