They're right of course. The sole reason that the Harper government has meddled in labour disputes since gaining it's majority is purely ideological. It has nothing to do with the economy. Harper and his supporters hate unions for doing things such as protecting workers' rights and ensuring that workers get a fair shake, so they will do anything they can to stop that. It wouldn't surprise me that in the future the Harper Tories table legislation banning unions entirely.
It's just further proof that Stephen Harper, the Conservative Party of Canada and the people who support both don't believe in human rights. To Harper, the CPC and their supporters, freedom of speech is something only for Conservatives, freedom of association is something only for Conservatives and so on an so on. It's a sad comment on the state of Canada under Harper.
