Bye-Bye Toronto
It has been a good stay here. The only thing that would have made it better is if the temperature and humidity weren't quite so high. High temperature and humidity does this prairie boy in for the most part and I've had to change into dry clothes upon my return to my, thankfully, air conditioned hotel room (it hasn't rained at all the time I've been here, you figure it out).
Other than that it's been great. On Wednesday I walked over to the CN Tower, took the elevator to the top, took some pics, took the elevator to the very top, took some more pics then back down again. I even took some pics of the glass floor for Mrs. Evil.
I then walked over to the Hockey Hall of Fame and toured around there for a bit. To be honest, I was walking by when I saw the sign and though that I should probably go in or they'll take my Canadian citizenship away. It was interesting and they had all the NHL trophies on display in their grand hall. Kind of cool.
I then walked up Younge street, which was a bustle of activity till I was able to walk over to Nathan Phillips Square and the Toronto city hall. Took some snaps there and then walked on up to the Royal Ontario Museum. At the ROM I spent about 4 hours walking around looking at the various artifacts and displays and taking more pictures. There's a lot of cool stuff from both cultural and natural history on display and was well worth the walk.
A picture of the dead for garething.
As I was wiped at closing time for the ROM, I hopped the subway back to my hotel and called it a day. I was sufficiently wiped that I ordered pizza in for supper.
Day two (Friday) was a day of rest. My legs were stiff from all the walking the day before so I took it easy. It's a vacation after all. I worked out my itinerary for the rest of the trip then ventured out to the train station to pick up my tickets. A walk up Younge Street to Eaton Centre for lunch then back to the hotel. The only other trip out was to pick up supper and then returned to watch Quincy DVD's on my computer.
Today I hooked up with a friend from cowtown who's originally from Toronto and is here visiting her folks. We had lunch and she dropped me off at the Ontario Science Centre. I spent the afternoon touring the Centre. Did I mention I love science museums. They're generally much more interactive than regular museums which makes them extremely fun places to visit. Lots of buttons to push and things to spin!
Temperature from the large bi-metal thermometer.
I spent the evening with her and her sister's family for supper which made for a nice evening. Subway back to downtown and back to the hotel.
Now all that's left is to wake up tomorrow and catch my train to Montreal!
