Almost Train Time!

So I'm now just sitting in the breakfast area of my hotel waiting to go to the train. I've opted to wait here and not at the train station since the hotel has internet access in the breakfast area and is more comfortable than the train station. The VIA station in Edmonton, for your info, is very similar to many small town airports I've been to. A small, nondescript single story building with a waiting area and a small ticket counter. The hotel is far more comfortable.

Anyhow, I have spent a restful weekend here in Edmonton. I spent much time soaking in the jaccuzi in my room and being basically lazy. I did venture out yesterday to the Alberta Railway Museum and wandered around there for a couple of hours. They have two new locomotives since the last time I was there. CP5000 – an EMD GP-30 as well as CN1392 – a 4-6-0 steam locomotive.

I was able to use last night to relax a bit as well as update my model railroad website. The West Mountain Railroad is nearly back to operation after the move. Only one piece of track to repair and then re-install the backgrounds.

Anyhow, time to save this and then start a game of Civilization. Only two hours till I go to the station, then it's two days on the train to Toronto!
